Run script with command: sh unixBuildScript.sh.Open unixBuildScript.sh file and set the propper Qt5 path.Open terminal and unzip or untar downloaded source code.In case of problems see the log.txt file. Setup the build path and run path (in project build settings panel) and compile the project (remember that your graphics card has to support at least openGL 4.0).

Run Qt then open a new project using the AwesomeBump.pro file (located in AB source code folder.).

  • Download the sourcecode of AB from github and unzip it.
  • In order to build AwesomeBump you will need to have qt-sdk installed:.
  • (note that the current version of cmake script does not work :()įor those using QtCreator, the steps are almost the same as for earlier versions. The best place to start with compiling/installing would be to read the appropriate sections in the wiki.

  • and many others, see our videos on YouTube.
  • mix two bumpmaps togheter with normal map mixer.
  • add some grunge to your map with grunge texture.
  • edit one texture which contains different materials.
  • saving images to following formats: PNG, JPG,BMP,TGA.
  • generate roughness and metallic textures (different types of surface analysis are available),.
  • creating seamless texture (simple linear filter, random mode, or mirror filter),.
  • perspective tranformation of the image,.
  • calculate ambient occlusion and specularity of image.
  • extract the bump from the arbitrary image,.

Just download and install Qt SDK, download the project from the repository, build and run. AB was made to be a new alternative to known gimp plugin called Insane Bump or commercial tool: Crazy Bump.ĪwesomeBump is totaly written in Qt thus you don’t need to install any aditionall libraries. Since the image processing is done in 99% on GPU the program runs very fast and all the parameters can be changed in real time. Additional features like material textures or grunge maps are available. This is how I know what to add next.AwesomeBump is a free and open source program written using Qt library designed to generate normal, height, specular or ambient occlusion, metallic, roughness textures from a single image. When we add more material types that have a good color variation like marble, I'll add an "invert" button to each tile color section to help you guys out with these kinds of issues. I'll put an inverted marble material on the list for next time so you have an option of dark veins on light background, but until then, if you have access to photoshop or something else to edit images, your best bet would be to invert the image and then lighten it up, your veins will then be a darker tone than the rest of the image and you should have an easier time adjusting to get the grey on white that you're after. The marble default is white veins with grey background so if you want grey veins with white background, that's gonna be some extra work since we're getting into some nitty-gritty manipulations.

Your Marble question is a bit more tricky though, I didn't set any color controls for individual elements of a material, it blends the whole image. From there you can pick whatever format you prefer. Hitting "Export to bitmap" should take you to the export screen that has a format select drop down in the upper right hand of the prompt. Hey Dustin, substance tile viewer coming along, i like that i can adjust grout size on large tile, it only allows export as a bitmap now?
